WELCOME TO STARTINGPOINT
Starting a Relationship with God: Imagine there's someone you knew of, or had seen around, but didn't know personally. If you wanted to get to know them you might call or message them. To accomplish this you would need their contact information. Well, entering into a relationship with God works in somewhat the same way. We may have heard of God, or seen evidence of Him around us, but don't know Him personally. Thankfully God sent us His contact information in Jesus Christ. In Ephesians 2:8-10 the Bible says, "8For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Notice in verse 10 that the relationship with God is "created" through "Christ Jesus," as we're "saved" from our sins and transformed into a new person "by grace...through faith" (verse 8). All the essential elements needed for starting and living in a relationship with God are listed in these verses. If put into an equation it would look like this: Grace + Faith = Salvation + Works. God's "grace" is provided "in Christ Jesus" death and resurrection, if we have "faith" in Jesus and what He did on the cross and overcame in the resurrection, we're "saved" and the result of that salvation is "good works." So if you need to 'get started' in a relationship with God, do so today by answering His call and trusting in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. This can be as meaningful as praying the 'A,B,C's of Salvation': Admit you're a sinner, Believe Jesus died for your sins and rose again conquering death, & Confess Jesus as Lord of your life. Also know that we at Philadelphia Baptist Church are here to assist you as start and grow in your relationship with God. If you want to talk more about getting this monumental fresh start on life, you can contact our Pastor directly at pcsnellings@gmail.com but know this: the only contact information you need to know for God, is His one and only Son Jesus, as "Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6.
